One of the most important considerations when considering implementation of a formative assessment program is the quality of the assessments themselves. In order to yield reliable, actionable data assessments must be considered scientifically valid and reliable.
We are proud to announce that PASeries was recently reviewed by the
National Center on Student Progress Monitoring. The center serves as a national technical assistance and dissemination center dedicated to the implementation of scientifically based student progress monitoring and has established a standard process to evaluate the scientific rigor of commercially available progress monitoring tools.
PASeries Reading and PASeries Mathematics meet the Center’s Progress Monitoring Standards for alternate forms and adequate yearly progress (AYP) benchmarks, as well as the Center’s Foundational Psychometric Standards for reliability and validity in student progress monitoring tools. Fewer than 50 products have participated in this rigorous review process, launched in 2004, and only 10 product lines are currently represented in the center’s
reviewed tools chart.
We are particularly proud that PASeries met the center’s foundational psychometric standards for reliability and validity and that it is included on this important resource list. You can learn more in our press release located
