Pearson Products Honored as Finalists in 2008 Association of Educational Publishers Awards
Awards Honor Top Education Products
NEW YORK - April 15, 2008 - Pearson products have been named as finalists in five categories of the 2008 Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) Awards. The program’s Distinguished Achievement and Golden Lamp Awards honor the year’s most outstanding materials in the field of teaching and learning, and the Beacon Awards honor the most creative and effective products and campaigns in the field of education marketing.
The Distinguished Achievement Awards recognize the best educational resources within the categories of Curriculum, Periodicals and Professional Development. An expert panel of educators, editors, designers and technology specialists evaluates products based on efficacy, usability and overall educational value. Longman English Interactive Online Level 2 from Pearson is a finalist in Curriculum, ESL/ELL Instruction, Technology, Websites, Grades 9-12. Longman English Interactive is an online, four-level, video-based integrated-skills program that includes over 100 hours of instruction per level. The program provides presentation and practice in grammar, speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading and writing.
enVisionMATH is a finalist in Curriculum, Mathematics Instruction, Books, Textbooks, Grades K-5. enVisionMATH is the first-of-its-kind elementary math curriculum combining visual animation and next-generation technologies with a comprehensive foundation in math skills that will prepare elementary students for success in middle and high school and on into college.
Perspective, Pearson’s powerful online remediation and enrichment tool for students, is a finalist in two curriculum categories - Teaching Resources, Technology Websites, Grades 6-8; and Teaching Resources, Technology Websites, Grades 9-12. Perspective provides students, families and educators with a roadmap to student improvement through enrichment and remediation resources tailored to student needs.
Winners of these awards will be announced at the annual AEP Awards Banquet & Gala, June 6, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Pearson’s marketing brochure for Scott Foresman Reading Street is a finalist for the top brochure in this segment of the awards program. Scott Foresman Reading Street is designed to help teachers build readers through motivating and engaging literature, scientifically research-based instruction, and a wealth of reliable teaching tools.
