Pearson Education Launches PASeries
Aug. 9, 2005
What:
Pearson PASeries™ (Progress Assessment Series™) has launched a weblog, “PASeries Parsed,” to offer educators the latest news and tips for getting the most out of PASeries Reading and PASeries Mathematics. On the blog, educators and parents will find information on upcoming PASeries products, tips and tricks on the best way to use PASeries to support teaching and learning, and links to research on formative assessment.
Developed for grades 3 through 8, PASeries assessments are scientifically valid, reliable and research-based benchmark tests. PASeries tests are designed for completion in one class period and for delivery either on paper or online with quick electronic reporting of results. The first two products, PASeries Reading and PASeries Mathematics, use the scientific Lexile® scale for reading measurement and its new companion Quantile® scale for mathematics to evaluate student progress.
When:
“PASeries Parsed” is online now. New content will be added on an ongoing basis.
Why:
Pearson Education developed “PASeries Parsed” to ensure that users of the formative assessment product line have access to the most up-to-date information on strategies for using the product, future developments and the latest trends in testing and assessment. Rather than an email newsletter, the blog was developed so that educators can read the information at their convenience and don’t have to worry about an entry getting caught up in a spam filter. Readers can sign up for an RSS feed that will allow them to view new content without visiting the site.
Where:
“PASeries Parsed” is available at www.PearsonPASeries.com/blog.
